The Malish Corporation has been a trusted name in floor care products since John and Pauline Malish founded the company 80 years ago. Jeff Malish, John and Pauline’s grandson, leads the company today as president and CEO. His philosophy is the same as his grandfather’s: provide high-quality, innovative solutions for floor care with a keen focus on customer service and Malish employees.
Malish started in the basement of John and Pauline’s home in Garfield Heights, Ohio, to provide rotary brushes for the OEM machine manufacturers. Soon, they outgrew that operation and moved a couple times to locations in downtown Cleveland. John’s son Terry joined the company in 1968, after serving for several years as a pilot in the U.S. Air Force. He led the company through significant changes as it expanded and prospered in a sometimes unpredictable and rapid-changing marketplace.
With continued growth, in 1971, the company purchased property in Willoughby, Ohio, where they constructed their new headquarters. In 1983, an additional 20,000 sq ft was added, and then in 1995, an additional 33,000 sq. ft. was added to accommodate Malish Plastics, the new plastics extrusion division specializing in custom extrusions of thermoplastics, extruded tubes, pipes, and profiles. Malish thrived in Willoughby for 45 years until there was no more room to grow. In 2016, Malish moved to its current 160,000 sq. ft. headquarters in Mentor, Ohio, and rehabbed the building from the ground up to allow future growth.
The Malish Corporation entered the twenty-first century with an increased emphasis on the global marketplace. Expansion began in 1999 with a manufacturing plant in China. Since then, Malish has had warehouses and sales offices in Italy, the Netherlands, and Poland to supply products to the European market.
As a global supplier, today Malish has operations in the U.S., Mexico, and China, and a distribution facility in Poland.

- 1945 – Founded by John and Pauline Malish in Cleveland, Ohio

- 2015 – Acquired the assets of Brooms & Brushes International, a specialized line of commercial-grade grill brushes
- 2016 – Headquarters moved to Mentor, Ohio
- 2017 – Expanded manufacturing footprint to Poland
- 2019 – Acquired Abtex, customized deburring solutions for manufacturing
- 2023 – Expanded manufacturing footprint to Mexico
Over the past 80 years, Malish has garnered a multitude of awards, among them the Sanitary Maintenance Distributor Choice Award, Top Products, William A. Cordes Innovation Excellence Award, Clean Expo, and more, and continues to lead in innovation and customer satisfaction.
Recent innovations include Flex Scrub®, a bristled floor pad; and The Diamond Devil® Concrete & Terrazzo Restoration and Polishing System, a chemical-free system that uses water only to remove coatings, prep, and polish concrete and terrazzo floors. It includes Mastic Demon™ Coating Removal Tool and a Polish Prep Tool.
